L’Educazione del Cuore del Dalai Lama
La mia speranza e desiderio è che un giorno l’educazione formale presterà attenzione a ciò che io chiamo “Educazione del Cuore“. Proprio come diamo per scontato la necessità di acquisire la competenza nelle materie base accademiche, io sono fiducioso che verrà un tempo nel quale potremo dare per scontato che i bambini imparino, come parte del curriculum, gli indispensabili valori interiori: l’amore, la compassione, la giustizia e il perdono.

My hope and wish is that one day, formal education will pay attention to what I call “education of the heart”. Just as we take for granted the need to acquire proficiency in the basic academic subjects, I am hopeful that a time will come when we can take it for granted that children will learn, as part of the curriculum, the indispensability of inner values: love, compassion, justice, and forgiveness.
